Glad this woman lost her job. Of course, like Harris’ niece, this lady offered no remorse for her racist statements. Again, glad she was fired.

So 312 warehouse workers are going to come up with $300 million. That’s nice dear, when are we going on that world cruise? As soon as Biden books our tickets. Good grief.

Carry permit or screw the permit and carry. I know some 80 year old gals with a pocket .32 in their purses.

I would never carry a firearm, and I am highly trained. Then again I can handle myself, at least in a fist fight/street brawl, but if a weapon ever came out after I kicked their ass and they pulled a firearm or knife, ala a Bernard Goetz, George Zimmerman or EG the Wussy, and they then tried to claim “self-defense”, it would/could be a major problem… 🐾🐾🐾

Trouble is these psychos shoot from distance and randomly. Either shoot back or you are dead. Same with road rage cases, domestics etc. I’ll defer to E and Marine1 for their opinion. I have seen a few but no personal involvement.

I carry very often now. Much more than I did even just a few years ago. I’m more pro gun than I was 2 years back. I think it would give some of these Asian attackers some pause.

i think its like 17 or 18 states now with no-permit carrying.

Living in a state that scrapped its carry permit requirement, i can attest that the streets in fact did NOT turn into a bloodier version of Venice…..almost as if scrapping laws that bad guys ignore anyway isn’t a problem

    John,

I don’t understand the reason for this filing. One would think that this Plan (with a 32.29% funded ratio) clearly meets the “in critical status” criteria, and would therefore automatically qualify for part of the Taxpayer-forced gift of $86 Billion (aka “Bailout”)

So why file for a benefit cut when doing so isn’t a requirement to participate in the Bailout ?

Dr. Deborah Birx, who served as the White House coronavirus response coordinator under former President Donald Trump, said in a CNN documentary clip released Saturday that she thinks the United States could have saved the hundreds of thousands of lives lost to Covid-19 following the pandemic’s first surge.

So far during the pandemic, the United States has seen more than 548,000 deaths due to Covid-19.

“When you look at your data now and you think, ‘OK, had we mitigated earlier, had we actually paused earlier and actually done it’ – how much of an impact do you think that would have made?” CNN Chief Medical Correspondent Dr. Sanjay Gupta asked Birx during an interview for the documentary “COVID WAR: The Pandemic Doctors Speak Out.”

“I look at it this way – the first time we have an excuse. There were about 100,000 deaths that came from that original surge,” Birx said. “All of the rest of them, in my mind, could have been mitigated or decreased substantially.”

In other words, the Trump administration and the country could have done more.
    ——————————–

Who do you think is largely is “responsible” for the other 400,000+ COVID Deaths ?

Well TL, according to CDC stats, would not have made much difference at all. Covid-19 stats as far as deaths, cases, etc. are about the same today as they were back then and that’s AFTER the lock downs, mask wearing, school closures, social distancing, etc.

Is this the same Deborah Brix who broke her own rules and visited family and grandchildren in DE over Thanksgiving? and then tried to worm her way out of it?

Again, there is a difference between dying directly from Covid-19 and dying with Covid-19. Fear mongering sells better than positivity and common sense.

And of that supposed 400k, maybe Cuomo and Murphy need to be held criminally responsible for sending all of those poor old people to their deaths and that’s just what we know about

There is no question that, given the age and underlying conditions of many who died from COVID, that their deaths might have come anyway within a few months or years.

Do you think those who lost their love ones sooner than necessary and couldn’t comfort them in those last days and hours are OK with that ?

And of course the significant number of middle age and younger (and a few children) who died completely unnecessarily.

Why do you EVER stand up for Trump …… clearly the moost defective person ever to be America’s President ?
      ———————

I agree that both Cuomo and Murphy made horribly WRONG decisions by sending recovering Covid patients to nursing homes……… and there should be accountability for that. But it’s the “masks make me look weak” mentality as the driving reason for Trump’s stupid decisions/actions that makes Trump SO much worse.

Article: “America’s pandemic dead deserve accountability after Birx disclosure”

        The first 2 paragraphs ………….

“The hundreds of thousands of citizens whose deaths from Covid-19 could have been avoided are owed national and political accountability, but the polarization of America that exacerbated the pandemic threatens to deprive them of their due.

A haunting admission by Dr. Deborah Birx in a new CNN documentary that after last year’s first infectious wave, the death toll could have been substantially reduced, will prove harrowing for those who lost loved ones. It also throws new scrutiny on the negligent management of the pandemic by former President Donald Trump and his willingness to put economic and political goals above science and the public well-being.”

TL, I didn’t say anything about Trump, you did but I’m sure you intent was to bait bloggers into joining your TDS

It’s unfortunate that anyone had to die from anything while being separated from their loved ones but that’s what happened and there isn’t anything anyone can do about it.

It’s also unfortunate that you want to blame Trump when the reality is that nobody really knows what any administration would have done differently considering this was a new and novel virus and it seems the red states who were the least compliant seem to be faring okay. Also seems that the European countries who took immediate lock downs, masks, etc are considering locking down again…go figure, I guess all of the immediate action wasn’t so helpful after all

Let’s see if Murphy or Cuomo are investigated and charged before passing your judgement. I think we know what the answer will be.

Oh please ……….. the lead, the “setting” ……….. was set by Trump early on ……. by CHOOSING to ignore the recommendations of his scientific/medical advisors and instead do what was POLITICALLY most beneficial to HIM.

NOBODY could have …. or intentionally WOULD have ….. chosen more poorly.

PS Drone, excellent article but you will never convince those who refuse to see and understand

The updated CDC stats clearly show that we are no better off today than we were last year as far as diagnosed cases, deaths, etc. so much for the shut downs, masks and closures

TL, don’t forget that Covid-19 allowed all of your blue state pensions to be bailed out with the blink of an eye, Covid was nothing more than a political cluster f==k that unfortunately affected mainly the elderly, small businesses and those who already had pre-exisiting illness

Fear, panic and negativity is the narrative and that sells via the MSM

    Wrong again TL

Read what Biden’s health commissioner is saying….4th wave coming worse than before, mask mandates to stay in place, Biden saying we should stop re-opening

Fear, negativity, and with millions upon millions vaccinated

And NO, the European lock downs did not work well, same as here

TL….you do like to bait MJ, Rex and PS with the Trump stuff. It’s just your way. Lol. You do the same with the pensions with Me. That’s fine. You’re just looking to start a dialogue and “vent”.
I even like the fat fuck comment. I thought you talking about Christie for a second. Haha.
That said, you aren’t right all the time. These guys are kinda right. We are 13 months into this thing and school has been closed in some districts for a year. People are getting lazy. They are getting fatter. They aren’t dating, etc. I say, keep the masks but open stuff to 75% May 1 and 100% by July 1. Then we lose the masks in the fall. It’s gotta end sometime regardless of how many cases there are. For almost 25 years I never wore a mask on a medical call, yet always wore rubber gloves on them even if no blood etc. going forward when masks are no longer needed, I and all first responders will probably keep masks in their bag or witb the gloves and wear them. Not on a broken ankle call, but on anything respiratory in nature. I never got sick from a call, but it makes sense going forward.

Dr. Birx, the same one who broke protocol to travel to DE to visit with her family and grandchildren for Thanksgiving while the rest of us were advised to quarantine from family? Birx and Fauci, too life long political hacks who change the rules regularly and want to stay in the MSM lime light

Are we supposed to be wearing one mask or two? I can’t keep up with all of the constantly changing recommendations

The vaccines are 90% effective according to Phizer and Moderna and as millions of people a day continue to get vaxed then common sense would dictate that things should be improving not going in the other direction. That alone would suggest that the lock downs and closures where complete nonsense. Excuse for bail outs, all very well orchestrated.

Read Drone’s article and then post your sources for anything that you disagree with.

E is correct, at some point we just all need to move on it’s been over a year. Old news.

What ? The lockdowns mostly PRECEDED any substantive vaccination.

Quoting ….. “at some point we just all need to move”

I agree, and we’ll get their faster if the still-unvaccinated get vaccinated, and we ALL continue to wear mask and socially distance for a few more months.

TL, you missed my point…of course the lock downs were pre-vax but now that millions upon millions have been vaccinated the numbers are still increasing to where they were at this time last year.
