Now I will never finish the Mueller report. I will look forward to your summary, but will also have my own.

    • E&L committee report will probably go up in the next few days. So far, it is just W&M. FYI, they transposed the first and second pages of the minority views.

    What’s wrong with this picture………….

The Boro of Lodi hires an interim Schools Superintendent at $700/day, yet the Police Officer on road (utility) work right nearby is being paid $1,000/day (rarely looking up from his cell phone).

      Specifically, $125/hr with a 4 hour minimum.

She doesn’t have one. And she likes giving half a story. So I’ll be her source. Yes, I can make that in a day but it would take me 9 hours. My contract calls for overtime to be paid for these traffic details. She will bitch and moan about her utility bill but the fact is that my town charges $20 per hour per car and a 15% admin fee to the contractor/utility. So the town makes about $800 a day for a 2 officer detail. I don’t make up the rules. She can cry in her beer. I don’t care what she thinks. Flagman are not permitted to direct traffic and pseg contracts Require a police officer at all road jobs. She can take it up with them. Start a letter writing campaign. Lol.
But what she really won’t tell you because she is a jealous woman, is that the new INTERIM superintendent in Lodi is Dr Fedina She is retired and is collecting a TPAF pension already and will continue to do so in her official capacity. $700 is what she worked out with the school district. I’m sure she will be just fine with that and her pension. Retired cops make about $40,000 to $50,000 acting as Class 3 specials. How can they afford it? Because they are collecting PFRS pensions. That’s how.
Look, we can’t all be Dana Redd guys. You remember her. The Christie lap dog who disbanded the Camden PD while
Mayor. And left behind the training ground (at best) county PD in its place that no one else wants a part of. Even the county PD cops seeing as they have the highest attrition rate in the state. She landed on her feet huh? Got the law changed to keep her on track for a huge pension. All those credits she had as mayor will now count towards her new job, she had the law changed to allow that. What is her new job? A do nothing board position at Rowan College making $343,000 a year. All of that is pensionable gentle readers. So…yea. No guilt here. I’ll stand(or sit in the car) by these road jobs for $110 an hour. All good. The politicians took good care of their own. Redd should’ve gotten $0 pension under the 2007 law Corrine signed. Nope. Fatso took good care of her ONE week before Murphy took over. So….I see NOTHING wrong with these road jobs.

Go ahead TL….point out any inaccuracies in anything I’ve said. And yes. My contract also calls for a 4 hr minimum if not cancelled 1 hr before the detail is scheduled to begin. The $125 is probably the highest ranking guy who can take the details. You live in a town where they are well paid. Our highest guy is probably around $118-120. Unless your councilperson is including the fee and car charge.

          OK, I’ll “point out” a few things………..

          (1) to Stephen Douglas ………… you see, even El gaupo admits to $110/hr with a 4 hour minimum (my town seems to pay a bit more). They’ve really go the Taxpayers (or in this case the ratepayers) by the cahonus.

          (2) Quoting El gaupo (and showing just how ignorant he is …….) …

“the fact is that my town charges $20 per hour per car and a 15% admin fee to the contractor/utility. So the town makes about $800 a day for a 2 officer detail. ”

Just like the $110/hr that EL gaupo is paid via the Utility reimbursing the town and the Utility then passing that “cost” onto the ratepayers, the $800 the Utility “pays” the town is also passed on to the ratepayers. So no EL gaupo, it’s NOT really a free $800 for the Town, because the town’s residents have picked up that cost in higher than necessary Utility rates.

          (3) Quoting El gaupo ………………

“pseg contracts Require a police officer at all road jobs. ”

You have mentioned that before in greater detail stating that the PSEG worker’s Union has those terms in it’s contract with PSEG.

Well, who the heck says that a Town has to agree to the terms of a contract to which they are NOT a party to. They DON’T.

But we DO understand how it REALLY works……. the town goes along because while it doesn’t cost them anything, it’s makes the Town’s Police happy (for the big/unjust bucks they get) and more likely to support the Town’s accommodating Elected Officials.
          —————————————

All the “other” things you through in, had absolutely nothing to do with the issue I raised……… your ridiculously excessive and unnecessary pay …….. passed along to the Town’s ratepayers ……….. for doing next to nothing at a road site.

You’re unreal. You quoted the $700 superintendent per diem rate. You brought it up. My rebuttal to that is that she is still getting compensated at $182,000 a year. This is in addition to her pension!!! Rag on her. Or do taxpayers not pay her salary?? She doesn’t get OT. Oh well.
The town councils do not LET us work for these utilities. Title 40 of the administrative code says they must. Just like it says if another bordering town asks us for help we MUST provide unless manpower (oops human power, sorry Berkeley CA) doesn’t allow it.
So yea. #1 town wants the dough from the utility. Helps them buy shit like police equipment or even new pool chairs for the town pool (even the members fees are supposed to pay for that) and #2 pseg will NOT do the work without the cops there. Good luck getting your gas leak fixed or you’re downed wires fixed or a new pole replaced. And #3 the police have the discretion to shut down ANY road job that is unsafe. In other words, without the cops there is no work if it is deemed unsafe for the public
Sorry. You lose again. Grasping at straws.
I’ve honestly never seen anyone have such a problem with what I earn. And I’ve seen some cheap fuckers during my time. You take the cake. Lol. Oh well. Sucks to be you I guess. 🤣

Yeah, I was kind of suggesting something other than…

            hear·say

            /ˈhirˌsā/

            noun

information received from other people that one cannot adequately substantiate; rumor.

“according to hearsay, Bob had managed to break his arm”

synonyms:rumor, gossip, tittle-tattle, tattle, idle chatter, idle talk, mere talk, report; More

            LAW

the report of another person’s words by a witness, which is usually disallowed as evidence in a court of law.

“everything they had told him would have been ruled out as hearsay”

            ——————————
I wouldn’t doubt there are circumstances where *some* officers might approach $125/hr. IF they exist, they are extreme outliers; highly paid officers in the most highly paid jurisdictions, probably only in exigent circumstances. “Average” officers, even in New Jersey, will not earn anywhere that.

            His councilman is …

TL, though, who claims not to be a “hater”, betrays himself with his $1,000/day claim, as if it were routine.

            Butt wait!

Only a true “hater” would double down on doltish.

“rarely looking up from his cell phone”

Even before I retired, CalTRANS restricted the use of personal cell phones on the job. Too distracting.

Nothing like a true hater to resort to insult and exaggeration. At least he is consistent. He has already repeated the same lie for years. If he keeps repeating the same lie often enough, inflation will eventually make it true.

            Tough Love is a hater.

Which is a higher ranking officer in an expensive jurisdiction, and STILL short of $1,000/day.

“my town seems to pay a bit more”

This is the internet age, TL. Put up or shut up, hater.

Amazing …………. That she is retired with a pension is not relevant. The POINT is that SHE is paid $700/day for a VERY “responsible/demanding” job and YOU are paid $1,000 per day for something that a turnip could do.

            El gaupo,

Please state which specified section of Title 40 of the NJ Administrative Code that “requires” Police at PSEG worksites.

Let me spell it out for you….
She is working at a discount rate because she is retired. The school district at the moment can not or chooses not to find a qualified full time person. The $182,000 is available to her now because your hero’s law got repealed years later because no qualified folks wanted to work for the salaries offered. The district doesn’t have to pay health benefits or pension costs for her. That is the discount rate for the district. You know that. You’re pretty ignorant yourself but you’re not a complete idiot. That makes her attractive to the district and allows her to command a nice salary while collecting her pension.
You can keep bitching all you want. It ain’t changing. FLSA regulations say I get OT for all extra work. Sorry you don’t like it. Take it up w pseg and Verizon. They want us at these sites to keep the workers safe from 2000 pound vehicles being driven by assholes texting and driving.
We have covered all of the ins and outs of traffic details. The only new material you cited was the super salary. That’s part of what I chose to comment on. You don’t like it because I hammered your ass with all the facts about her situation. Most supers now can expect to be paid north of $200k in wealthier districts. The anonymous commenters, both of them, or spot on. You are a hater. You dislike me quite a bit. Far more waste in this state than in your local govt and in particular your local police department. At your service 24/7. Your taxes are not high because of me, my friend. Hater, hater!! So transparent

See #3 of my earlier comment. Police have the discretion to shut down any road project that they deem unsafe. Not the councilman (who wants that dough anyway). In case you were wondering, I am under no requirement to obey any order from an elected official or any other civilian. Only the police chief in non day to day operations, I.e budget, promotions, hiring and firing is required to follow a governing body’s orders.

            Crash reconstruction “expert” ???

Earth to El gaupo, VERY VERY VERY few cars weigh only 2,000 lbs? Oh yes, the Isetta. Must be lots of these (perhaps with Steve Urkel at the wheel) passing through Utility Construction sites.
            ————————————

Oh, and the “Anonymous” commentator ……….. that our resident Retired CA light-bulb-changer Stephen Douglas ………. who support anything/everything “Union”, no matter how stupid/outrageous. Not worth bothering with.

I haven’t read the whole article plus links yet. Just putting it out there.

    Jane the Actuary…
“There is no getting around this; back in December, I detailed the ways in which the original pension legislation, ERISA, and subsequent laws, put roadblocks in front of plans trying to properly fund their plans, and suggested that a better framing than “bailout” is that idea that the government would be making “restoration payments” in acknowledgement of these regulatory flaws. ”
