Yesterday the “New Jersey Department of the Treasury announced sizable rate reductions and a premium contribution ‘holiday’ for eligible employers and members of the School Employees’ Health Benefits Program (SEHBP) for Plan Year 2022.”
Here are excerpts from further details along with some wisdom from Kenny G.
To be eligible, school districts must have been participating in the SEHBP on or before July 1, 2021 and must continue participation in February, 2022. The 2022 premium for the New Jersey Educators Health Plan (NJEHP) is projected to be 11 percent lower than the 2022 premium for the NJ DIRECT10 plan. The premiums for legacy plans NJ DIRECT10 and NJ DIRECT15 are also projected to decrease by 1.6 percent next year. SEHBP rate reductions will apply beginning with the employer health benefits billing statement for January 2022.The SEHBP Commission voted on August 5, 2021, to approve a contribution “holiday” in February 2022 for school districts participating in the SEHBP on or before July 1, 2021. The January 2022 billing should be paid as usual. Eligible employers will receive a health benefits billing statement reflecting a full credit for February 2022.
About seven pages of eligible employers are listed.
