Me Asking the Governor

Gov. Phil Murphy was taking YOUR questions on News12 New Jersey this afternoon. Mine was on property taxes and political corruption. I leave it to you to decide if I got an acceptable answer.

Don’t like high taxes, rampant corruption and pay to play, then NJ might not be for you….to paraphrase the governor.

Is Merck sending a message by moving their HQ to an industrial building in Rahway? Didn’t NJ build them a golf course next to their Kenilworth corporate HQ campus at Galloping Hill? What more could they want?

Maybe NJ should put Galloping Hill in the Pension plan assets? The retired teachers could receive some of their benefits in the form of discounted tee times.

    • The golf course across the street was always there. Just that the county put in a whole lot of money into it recently to get it right for Tiger.

More on Merck in a series of blogs of Kenilworth coming soon and another book on pharmaceutical company manipulations. I guess Merck was too busy moving and appealing taxes to bother with coming up with a covid vaccine.

“get it right for Tiger” Maybe part of their reasoning in dumping the $ in Galloping Hill was to get it right for Merck and other Corp HQs by getting it right for Tiger. Merck is kind of saying “world class golfing we don’t need no stinking world class golfing.” The move to Rahway might imply that although NJ is nice enough, the HQ staff has no need to be in NJ. Or maybe they want NJ to build them a world class golf course in Rahway.
