Christie the Live-In Candidate

trump rally
This picture was taken today in Norcross, Georgia and that figure far off on the stage is Donald Trump leading his rally.  Unless the Mets beat Greinke this will probably be the lead story in the Sunday papers though nothing of significance will likely be said.

Contrast that to the Christie campaign where he interrupts the breakfasts of 37 people (I think I counted right but you can check me on the youtube from Christie’s channel with its 148 hits) where he did come out with some interesting tidbits for those still paying him any attention:

He’s not coming back to New Jersey anytime soon:
.

.
Two hours in a pancake house (not eating) listening to Christie could muddle your recollection of how many states we have but that should get sorted out in any of next hundred or so town-hall meetings he promised to attend (possibly at this one pancake house) which some people in New Hampshire appreciate:
.

.
A questioner hit upon the reason Christie still has a campaign staff (in addition to those being paid by New Jersey taxpayers). Check out the staffer next to the questioner:
.

.
If your candidate wins you have a better shot at being Secretary of State or a Supreme Court Justice than if you wasted your time with qualifying yourself for those jobs and that might be the main reason Christie still has people working these events.

Now to some issues, starting off with teacher-bashing:
.

.
and Planned Parenthood with the mindless Republican slant (as opposed to the mindless Democrat slant that popped up in Union County this week):
.

Hmm maybe he might face reality (which isn’t running for POTUS) and actually do the JOB he’s getting paid by the taxpayers to do, govern? Sorry, I was having a senior moment!

oh this is such a waste of time, even TL doesn’t think Christie is going to win

    • Of course he’s not going to win but HE doesn’t know that yet which is among the things that make his quixotic quest so amusing.

If he even gets a whiff of 5% people will start looking at his disastrous record and think better. As it is he’s being ignored by everybody except his captive breakfast mates.

And Don Quixote is an apt metaphor for his persona. If you read the book it was all about a delusional common man messing up everything he touched through his incompetence. What I got from reading it was that Cervantes was not building up a hero valiantly reaching for some impossible dream but ridiculing an ass who doesn’t know his place. Proof is that it was written in 1605 when the few people who could read would enjoy tales mocking their inferiors who knew no better, not celebrating them.

As Tough Luck loves to say, “still the idiot”. I didn’t state fact or draw a conclusion but posed a question.

I’m assuming you read the articlrs posted in your link. Does anyone with a little common sense think $1M in San Fransico proper will get you much more than a cubicle condo? Note to moron this is a question!

Ok, so what’s to say about this statement taken directly from the article you posted….

“Like teachers, police officers used to be some of New Jersey’s lowest-paid public servants.”
Was anyone crying to get their salaries increased then?? Of course not!! But now you cry baby idiots want to attack these people!!!! Such hypocrisy!!!
Oh well, now we can’t afford it because of all the tax breaks and subsidies. You all allowed the richer to become even richer without blinking an eye. But now because pensions, benefits and salaries are the hot topic….. You all want to jump on the band wagon!!!!! Time for taxes in every form to go up!!!!

Again TL…. I offer a valid counter opinion and you can’t even touch on it. So I’m again successful in proving you’re a one sided single view type of person. Why bother responding to my posts?? Just please…. Ignore them. You offer no substance. If it’s your goal to bore people to death with the same old crap…. You’re winning.

Dentss, your linked article stated ….

“That’s almost as much as New York City Police Commissioner William J. Bratton’s $214,400 salary. ….. Add in pension and health benefits, and the grand total hits $237,700.”

Reading a bit further, and it’s clear that those figures are ……” according to the township’s business administrator. “

The added value for this Captain’s annual pension accrual and health benefits is likely understated by AT LEAST $100,000.

“Final Average Salary” Defined Benefit pensions of the type Public Sector workers receive are very “back-loaded”, with at least 1/3 of the pension earned in the last 5 years of a long career. A Captain is likely in those last 5 years, and with a pension with a lump sum value likely between $2.0 and $2.5 Million, each year that he now works adds AT LEAST $100K in value to his pension Plan, and the Taxpayer’s contribution to his (family coverage) assuredly costing the town another $20-$25K.

This Captain is not a $200,000k Officer as the article’s title states. He is a $350k-$400k Officer.

      Don’t believe me? Ask John.
      ————————————————————————————–

What’s most annoying is that this “business administrator (most likely) knows that he VERY seriously understated the true value of this Captain’s annual pension accrual and healthcare benefits, but thinks it’s OK to do so.

It may be a bit tired and old …… but dead-on accurate, and THAT’s what important …. and what must be “fixed”.
