Though it might not be through Bridgegate first.
Yesterday Christie announced a National Finance Leadership Team for his 2016 Presidential Campaign. Let’s see how you get on that list.
Fred Alworth is a lawyer who donated to Christie’s gubernatorial campaigns and whose law firm (which also happens to be Bill Palatucci’s law firm) received $1.7 million to date to obstruct the discovery process in Barlyn v. Dow where it was claimed:
According to Barlyn’s lawsuit, a material witness in the investigation was Dr. Robert Hariri, who with his wife donated more than $10,000 to Christie’s 2009 gubernatorial campaign and later was part of the Republican governor’s transition team. The lawsuit claims Hariri, who wasn’t charged, was believed to be one of the people given a fake law enforcement ID card by one of the defendants, Undersheriff Michael Russo.
The lawsuit also contends all three defendants were Christie supporters and that Russo told a reporter that Christie would step in and “have this whole thing thrown out.”
This was taken from a story that came out this morning reporting that Barlyn has been granted access to secret grand jury transcripts in his case which could mean either:
- Christie’s House of Graft tumbles when his nefarious machinations are exposed to all; or
- Gibbons gets another $1.7 million (with Allworth and Palatucci funneling some of their cut to Christie2016) as Judge Hurd’s decision gets appealed to the Christie appointees on the State Supreme Court.
