Christie’s Next Jam

Chris Christie will announce for president and his youtube stream has been updated for 10:30 tomorrow morning:
.

.
His first problem could be a market collapse which would relegate the announcement to an afterthought (or a ‘Christie sat on it’ joke) but what is more likely to dampen the festivities is traffic.

It will be at Livingston High School and I know the area well from playing at the basketball courts there on Saturday mornings for years and at that time that stretch of road between Route 10 and Northfield is congested even if there are only walker/jogger and Shop Rite traffic.  Tomorrow there will be all sorts of political types plus, according to a just uploaded nj.com story, 1,000 teachers:

As New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie announces his presidential bid at Livingston High School on Tuesday, teachers from across the state will descend on the school wearing red and spreading the message that Christie is a “liar” and “a bully,” according to a union leader.

The protest was arranged by the Essex County Education Association over the weekend after teachers learned Thursday that Christie would make his announcement at a school, said Anthony Rosamilia, president of the association, whi said he expects a thousand teachers to show up Tuesday.

“A lot of my members felt that this was like rubbing our faces in it,” said Rosamilia, a history teacher at Livingston High School. “To have his announcement at a public school was just, we thought, just like really adding insult to injury.”

Fitting that this quixotic quest kicks off with a massive jam.  It will not be the last one if anyone ever asks him about his record.

Christies announcement, much like his failed pension reform; is it a question of “what if” or “what was”?

If he gets too busy campaigning, he will need to vacate the Governor’s Office. I think the NJEA should launch a alternate campaign ” by the way he forgot these interesting nuggets”.

He will most likely hope to become vice president since he knows positively he has little change to win the nomination.

  4. Wearing Red shirts with the message that Christie is a bully and a liar? They must be elementary school teachers. Name calling, stomping their feet like children…please get a grip. They are off in the summer so I guess this is how they spend all that time preparing for next year.

      • Yes you are correct. Thats the problem…children fighting in a school yard, no adults in the room to settle things. Both sides need to grow up and face reality. Teachers don’t deserve anyhting more than the taxpayers who pay their generous salaries, health benefits and pensions.

Well said, but you should have included ALL (State and Local) Public Sector workers

he’s not ready for primetime. Keep Christie where he belongs, in NJ.

we need a chant only NJ could claim:

“NJ needs Christie, screw the USA!”

We need him; like a stomach needs an ulcer – you know we need him, like a pile of crap needs flies – you know we need him. Nothing personal just had an artistic musical moment. Yeah I know, I’ll keep my day job.

By “we” above I’m guessing you mean Public Sector workers/retirees.

Well, as a Taxpayer, I think “we” (the Taxpayers) need Christie to remain as NJ Governor, because while HE REFUSES to pump more of the Taxpayers hard-earned money into the CESSPOOL of grossly excessive Public Sector pensions until reformed along the lines of the NJ pension Commission proposals, a likely Democratic interim replacement Governor would likely do …. AGAINST the best interests of ALL of NJ’s Taxpayers (NOT just the Public Sector workers).

It’s just lyrics (pretty bad at that). And what I mean by we is you and or me and you, no matter how we tossed the dice….

30% approval rating & dropping, I’d imagine there’s a lot of non-publics in the 70% that are signing the same song!

But twist the numbers as you may we all know he’s here to stay!

Well informed Taxpaying Private Sector residents of NJ know that NJ’s financial salvation DEPENDS on HUGE reductions in the Pensions and Benefits promised both State and Local Public Sector workers.

If WE love him WE’LL let him go. Don’t worry he’ll come back, IF he loves US as much. Who are the WE & US, I guess the 30% and falling b/c it’s not the 70%.
