Top Actuarial Clips

It’s been a productive weekend. The October 15 data nudges are out (or so I’ve been told); I’ve surpassed Paul Mulshine in the number of blog followers; and the report on Union County misappropriating Open Space trust fund money is done and with my editor. So while awaiting 218 pieces of client data or the default number on Detroit pensions here are my six favorite actuarial-themed media moments (and one on pickup basketball):

Sure wish a yearly turnover of bright 8th grade arithmetic students ran the public pension systems, between basketball games. No need for tests to weed out the honest.
And, they would immediately grasp the need for a fancy name of creating factors so each town pays County taxes based on actual propert values.
Could even hope it may occur to them to tax income, not property that may have none, or more, but is no indication of ability to pay.
Mr. Mulshine is not a numbers person, but balances with a KISS motto?
